Check this out! Wakfu beta

on Friday, November 26, 2010
I know I know! I'm late on my posts! I had a pretty busy week and I only got back very late so I couldn't post.
I was about to make a review for another spaceship game but I'm gonna take a different style of game this time.

So, many of you might know Dofus, an MMORPG where you take on the role of an adventurer that belongs to 1 of the 12 different classes. You explore, run around killing fantasy animals from cute to monstrous. Wakfu is the sequel. Situated 1000 years after the Dofus age, a giant ogre conquers the whole world. A massive part of the world of Dofus is submerged in water because of him. And the 12 gods have summoned you to take back the 6 Dofus eggs that can grant the owner any wish.

The gameplay is great and the graphics are amazing. This game is still in beta but you can register now and take part when it opens. There already have been tons of open betas but they were all very glitchy. They changed most of the things halfway through the making of the game but they are progressing really well on the game.

Check that out and take also a look at Dofus.

Review of Flotilla

on Monday, November 22, 2010
Flotilla...
Flotilla is a very interesting game. You get to control a bunch of starships in a 3d environment where special maneuvers, tactics and strategies rule the game. The top of the ship and the front has strong armor, making the gameplay even more interesting. A strong point in this game is its adventure mode. Lemme tell ya 'bout it!

The adventure mode is funny, nicely done, and is in a style close to the "Choose your own adventure". You start with 7 months left to live and you travel from star to star in the galaxy, gaining cargo, fighting cruisers and becoming a karaoke champ. The music is random but somehow fits the game in its own way in the destruction of the ships in the vast, cold depths of space.

Anyways I think you should play it. There isn't much content but it's an interesting game with a nice twist on things.

Review of Trackmania United Forever

on Thursday, November 18, 2010
Trackmania... I think this one is pretty much one of the best racing games... ever...

I mean seriously, you might wish you were still a small kid, playing with your toy cars, going through tunnels and jumping off impossible cliffs all the while sliding on ice and passing over houses and hills. From countryside racing  in the sunrise to skidding in the streets of a massive sky-scraper-filled city at night, from realistic, heavy cars to a crazy, 500 km/hour beach race. This game HAS IT ALL!!!1! You can race on 7 different environments where the cars all act completely differently in a totally different landscape. This game is also expected to live for a LONG time since you can create your own tracks through a massive range of objects and roads, decorations and buildings.

^^ Bay, this is urban life baby! These cars are quick and adherent which can lead to very fast tracks while keeping a really nice turning speed.
In this game there is everything you need to keep you hooked for at least a whole year. The never ending, user-created content runs your envy for more driving. You can also make movies directly from the game. You record a ghost car that you will drive, modify the camera, put shaking, text and effects, smooth travelings through your favorite race and BAM! There you go, an epic racing movie.

You also have a stunt mode, where you need to use jumps and other objects like a simple ramp or rock to create insane barrel rolls for points. Obviously, this has multiplayer and an AMAZING COMMUNITY! There are many dedicated people who make tons of videos and great tracks. They even make modes that can modify the environment completely, without mentioning the customizable cars and 3D models you can make. For the cherry on top, there is even AN INTERNAL BROWSER! You can go onto these mini websites called "Manialinks" and buy things with money (coppers) that you get from playing every day to buy maps and new cool cars.

BAH! Screw those ratings! Im outta here! Gotta clean my wheels before the race! ;)

Homeworld 2 Review

on Wednesday, November 17, 2010
BOO! Am back! And with something really nice to show ya!

Homeworld 2... I think this is one of the best if not THE best RTS I have ever played.

Homeworld 2 is a space 3D RTS set in a world of peace, until a war breaks out. Starting now, your life will be changed. The second of the Homeworld series, and certainly the best, you take on the role of commander of an army, starting the game with a single Mothership, a carrier, and a few resource collectors near an asteroid field, you must destroy all of the enemy's capital ships.
Homeworld 2 will shoot you up in space in intense battles where you control a Hiigaran fighter squadron, to a massive Vaigr Battlecruiser. You must produce starships and collectors that feed on nearby asteroids to bring you resources in order to do research, building, send ships into hyperspace ect...

The game has also a carrer included, which consists of a dozen episodes in which you control a fleet of a forgotten race, The Hiigaran, and bring them back to their homeland. The plot is very developed and forces the player to use different tactics and strategies at his advantage to win the game. For example, a bomber can destroy larger ships but can also target subsystems, which are used to produce and unlock abillities, research or build even better fighters. In order to do that, IMP bombs need to be produced through the research module.

The graphics engine in this game was extremely advanced for it's age considering this game has been around for a while, and they are still very stunning when you watch a gigantic mother-ship disintegrate before your eyes, leaving pieces of junk lying around, ready to be collected by your own resource collectors.
Great game, full of memories and I am sure you will have a lot of fun playing it not only against the computer, but with your friends either online or with Hamachi, an application that creates an LAN between users.

Story- 9/10 I'm amazed... The cinematics are breathtaking too and could stun the crap out of every player out there.

Gameplay- 10/10 Yup, this game is full of options and has 2 very different races you can play every time.

Graphics- 9/10 Amazing graphics.... I don't know what to say...

Sound and music- 10/10 The soundtrack is amazing and there are also many voices for every ship "response" and "construction finished".

Overall rating 9/10 Don't be mad at me but this game  NEEDS THE THIRD IN THE SERIES! If there was a third one out already, I would put 10/10. This is definitely a MUST PLAY for any RTS lover or even any space battle fan in this world.
